Poker Might Get Another, Legal, Home

Casino operators in West Virginia are making a push at
legalizing table games in West Virginia. Currently, the
state only allows video-simulated games and slot
machines in its borders. Lawmakers will probably add
table games, including poker of course, to the
repertoire because of potential employment and tax
losses to neighboring states like Pennsylvania who plan
to expand their casino operations.
I don't live in West Virginia, or know anyone else who
does for that matter, but it's always nice to see a
small victory for poker over the gambling-phobic
legislators in the United States. What's even stranger
is the law that some states still go by - slots and
video games only? What's the big deal? If you're going
to legalize any form of gaming do it right and allow
poker, a skill game, into the mix.
